The P22 Type Foundry booklet is showcasing typefaces that are based on different artists’ handwritings, such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. Since all these artists are long gone, I wanted to use the idea of correspondence as the theme for the book, to create a dialogue between me and the artists. So I wrote each one of them a letter as a way to extend the lost art of letter-writing and to build a dialogue to connect the past and the present.
